About Jack

A native of Cabarrus County with blue-collar roots, Jack has dedicated his professional and personal life to making his community a better place for all to live.
Jack is part-owner of his family's small business in Concord - L&L Core Supply is an industrial recycling facility and engine core supply company.
Over the years, Jack has been involved in many organizations, including serving as the Chairman of the Historic Cabarrus Association, Vice Chairman of the City of Concord's Stormwater Management Advisory Commission, board member of Cabarrus Area Crime Stoppers, and as a patron to many local causes.
Jack proudly serves as part owner and Vice President of Operations at L&L Core Supply, the largest secondary metal recycling center in the city of Concord. Jack is proud that L&L Core Supply is a second-chance employer, working to help those who have been previously incarcerated or suffered from addiction.
While working three jobs, Jack's Father started their business out of the back of a pickup truck in the fall of 1989. Over thirty years later, L&L has become a thriving family business in Concord. Since Jack was 16 years old he worked alongside his father. His father taught him the value of hard work and dedication, a lesson that Jack has applied to all avenues of life including helping build the family business. Jack, oversees daily facility operations, growth, and investment opportunities.

Small Business Owner

A committed lifelong learner, Jack graduated from Catawba College with a Bachelor's degree in the Administration of Justice. Being the first member of his family to become a college graduate. Later in life Jack also obtained a professional certification in municipal finance from Rowan Cabarrus Community College, a rare achievement for a private citizen, as it is typically held by senior municipal finance officers. In addition, Jack holds a professional certification in small business management and accounting from Duke University and is a licensed and sworn notary public. Jack also takes great pride in having completed Concord 101 and the Concord Citizen's Public Safety Academy.
Education
Jack currently serves as Chairman of the Historic Cabarrus Association, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. In this role Jack oversees the Board of Directors, and Ph.d level staff. While working towards the goal of preserving the rich history of Cabarrus County for future generations.
Jack is also a member of the Board of The Cabarrus Area Crime Stoppers, working with local law enforcement agencies to strengthen community bonds and take dangerous criminals off the streets.
Jack currently serves as Vice Chairman of the City of Concord's Stormwater Management Commission (SMAC) in this role Jack and other Commissioners are tasked with developing policy recommendations and advising City Council on matters related to water infrastructure, the stormwater tax rate, and changes to the zoning ordinance.
Jack is also a patron and / or volunteer of many other organizations such as the Cabarrus Arts Council, We Build Concord, the Lantern Project, Present Age Ministry, Coopertive Christian Ministries, the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation, and many more.
